Kutatók éjszakája - a kutatók köztünk vannak

Szeptember 22-én rendezik meg az Európai Kutatók Éjszakáját, melynek keretében Európa szerte egyszerre zajlanak majd a tudományos kutatást népszerűsítő programok. Idén Budapest és Győr csatlakozik a rendezvénysorozathoz. Ezen a napon kora reggeltől késő estig a legkülönfélébb izgalmas, különleges programok, előadások, várják az érdeklődőket e két városban, melyek célja, hogy bemutassák, hogyan érinti, hogyan segíti mindennapjainkat a tudomány, a tudományos tevékenység.
Kiemelt témánk a Föld megismerése és védelme a tudomány eszközeivel, hogyan segíthetik a különböző tudományterületek együttesen a környezettudatos magatartás kialakítását.
Néhány rendezvény, a teljesség igénye nélkül: látogatást tehetünk a Műegyetem repülésszimulátor laboratóriumába, Budapest földalatti világa címmel a barlangok és a termál vizek létrejöttének titkait ismerhetjük meg a Szemlőhegyi barlangba, illetve a Lukács fürdőbe szervezett kiránduláson, Természeti katasztrófák a médiában és a filmekben címmel vetítéssel egybekötött előadást hallgathatunk, a Kutatók kocsmájában kötetlen, esti beszélgetés keretében Európát megjárt kutatók mesélnek szakmai lehetőségekről és tapasztalataikról valamint kuriózumként kutató-feltaláló zenészek szórakoztatják a közönséget. Győrben szabadtéri program keretében gyönyörködhetünk a csillagokban és tudományos kísérlet közben győződhetünk meg arról, hogy valóban mozog-e a Föld.
Este 6 órától a Jövő Házában élő internetes televíziós műsort készítünk a fenntartható fejlődés témájához kapcsolódva a természeti katasztrófák, a környezetvédelem, az atomenergia, a zöld energia, a tudatos fogyasztás, a GMO területeit érintve. A rendezvény célja, hogy lehetőséget biztosítson a nagyközönség, a civil szakmai szervezetek, a politikai döntéshozók valamint a tudósok közötti eszmecserére.

Researchers' Night 2006 - researchers are among us

The Researchers' Night is a Europe-wide event scheduled for 22 September with programmes running simultaneously in 25 countries and popularizing scientific research. This year in Hungary Budapest and Győr join the international series of events. From early morning until late at night various exciting, festival-like programmes take place in the two cities to demonstrate the visitors how science and scientific activities impact and help our everyday lives.
The two highlighted topics of the day focus on how science helps us protect and study the Earth and how various scientific fields can jointly spread environmentally-conscious behaviour.
The events of the day include: guided tours of the mysterious labs of ELTE, Széchenyi István University and BME, in the latter also of the flight simulator. Trips to the Szemlőhegyi cave and Lukács Spa unveil the underground world of Budapest, while a boat ride on the Danube allows visitors to discover the riverbed with the help of a sonar equipment. Outdoor programmes to be held in Győr will open up the world of stars, and a scientific experiment will prove that the Earth does indeed move.
In the evening at the House of the Future a live Internet and TV programme will be produced on sustainable development, touching upon issues such as natural disasters, global climate change, environmental protection, nuclear energy, green energy, conscious consumption and GMO. The programme is designed to facilitate discussion between the lay public and non-governmental organizations, political decision makers, corporations and scientists. The closing event of the day is the "Researchers' Pub", where researchers and inventors talented in other fields (e.g. music) will entertain the audience.

An online game is scheduled for launching on 1 September on the www.mindentudas.hu website. Also students may participate in creative contests (posters, photos and objects made from waste metal). The awarding ceremony and the opening of the exhibition are scheduled for 22 September in the House of the Future.
