Explore, analyze, design, play! I Program guide

You don’t speak Hungarian but want to enjoy the opportunities of the Researchers’ Night? We are happy to help you.

Robots in the lab

What happens when you let robots loose on cancer research? At this program you’ll find out! An automated system takes over the whole workflow: it carefully seeds cancer cells, treats them with different drugs, and snaps detailed images of how the cells respond, all without complaining about overtime. With the robot handling the repetitive steps, you can run more experiments, generate cleaner data, and feed it straight into the AI models to spot new patterns, helping us speed up discoveries and dream a little bigger about the future of cancer treatment.

International Trade Game

You are curious about the dynamics of international trade but don’t want to spend your afternoon looking at numbers and statistics? Totally understandable. Believe it or not, there is a lot more to Economics than dry graphs and complicated calculations! Join this playful experiment and see for yourself! No prior knowledge of economics (or math) is required. The game is played in groups of 3-7 people, the gamemaster is Prof. Dr. Stefan Okruch, Chair for Economic Policy.

Design Your Ideal AI Teacher

Ever wondered what the perfect AI tutor would look and sound like? At this interactive experience, you’ll create your own dream AI teacher by selecting its personality traits, choosing what you want to learn, and watching it come to life! You’ll then chat with your custom tutor, reflect on the experience, and help to explore how people feel about learning from AI. Your anonymous choices and feedback will contribute to real research on trust, emotions, and educational technology. Come shape the future of learning!

Political Cartoons as Visual Commentaries: The Illustrated History of America

Political cartoonists have covered a wide range of topics via their thought-provoking illustrations during various moments in American history. Some of these cartoons might be candid, educational, satirical, funny, and even puzzling, but generally, all of them are sharply observant of the changes in American society and politics. During the interactive class you can take a look at political cartoons as a medium, as a visual commentary, but also as the illustrated history of America, reflecting on the work of some prominent political cartoonists from various eras. In order to foster and encourage critical thinking, the illustrations will be analyzed in their historical context in order to discuss their intended meaning and message, and how they reflect the given time period. The lecturer is Dániel Cseh, Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of American Studies, Eötvös Loránd University.

Eating Data

A creative workshop where food becomes a way to explore the stories of Lake Balaton. Participants will write, share, and taste while reflecting on how the lake’s environment is changing. Through playful activities, personal memories turn into edible experiences that connect people of all ages to the lake’s ecology. The workshop will be conducted in English, with an interpreter available for assistance.
